How did Gilda’s Club get started?

The organization began in 1995 in honor of comedian Gilda Radner, whose dream it was to have everyone living with cancer and their families and friends, have a place where they can receive both emotional & social support. Gilda’s Club Westchester is a local affiliate of Gilda’s Club Worldwide.

Who needs Gilda’s Club Westchester?

Anyone touched by cancer, any type of cancer, newly diagnosed or long-term survivor. Women, men and children. Their families and their friends.

What happens at Gilda’s Club Westchester?

You’ll find FREE cancer support, networking, information, lectures, family support groups, social events and children’s programming, all adding up to a “support community.” We laugh, we love and we learn to live with cancer. We share, we cry, we let it all out, together.

Is there a charge for membership to Gilda’s Club Westchester?

No. Everything is absolutely free of charge.

How do I join Gilda’s Club Westchester? Do I need a medical referral?

To join, simply pick up the phone and call us at (914)644-8844 to reserve a space at a “New Member Meeting.” However you learned about Gilda’s Club, whether through a doctor, a friend or the media, just come as you are and JOIN US! No prescription required.

Living with cancer is more than doctor’s appointments. It’s feeling supported, understood, knowing you can find information, friendship, help and community. You can get it all at Gilda’s Club Westchester where the door is always open and you are always welcome.
