"It's Always Something" Teen Essay Contest
Our second annual teen contest continued to engage teenagers to write about their cancer experience. We had 13 essay submissions that were reviewed by our staff and judged by a celebrity panel which included: Vanessa Williams (joined by her mother Helen Williams), Darlene Rodriguez (co-anchor of "Today in New York"), Marissa Grumer (Senior Fashion Market Editor, Seventeen Magazine), Phil Lipof (Anchor/Reporter, WABC-TV), and Kurt Loder (MTV News). Three top winners were chosen and celebrated at a reception for all the participants on May 3rd. We would like to give a special thank you to OSI Pharmaceuticals Foundation, Inc for sponsoring the event.
